SEPTEMBER 11, 2001

Those faceless pilots, with engine roar,

Crashed our planes with blood and gore,

Our innocence lost - to be no more.

Some were gone with the blink of an eye,

Except for those, who could say good-bye.

For some, there wasn't time to flee or escape,

Or time to pray, my soul to take.

Just say, "Jesus," one young man cried

As the building collapsed, no where to hide,

And so many died.

Each survivor has a story, he tries to explain,

His emotions run high, his voice full of pain.

"It's an act of war." Make no mistake".

Our hands applaud, but our hearts still ache.

We cry for the mothers, the fathers, the sisters, the brothers,

The grandmas, the grandpas and especially, young lovers.

Give us time to grieve, time for sorrow,

Time to face that next tomorrow.

We claim our rage,

And quietly, silently, turn the page.
