"Mountain & Muse were two superior foxhunting hounds that were saved from death as they both had a penchant for hunting other dogs. Their former owner was about to destroy them when Benjamin Ogle offered to take them.

They came to Maryland in 1814 and was saved from execution. They were sketched from life by Benjamin Ogle.  These two hounds became the progenitors of just about every major American Foxhound strain.
